We left on the morning of April 1st. We used Route 70 up over the Sacramento Mountains to Ruidosa and east toward Roswell. On the way we had our last view of the mountains and Sierra Blanca, the highest peak in the area (almost 12000 ft high). It is a sacred location for the Mescalero Apache people. There is very little snow in the mountains as we leave. The weather has been very warm and most of the snow there had melted.
