One of our favorite spots to bird in New Mexico is along the Rio Grande River and the best spot is the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Area. It has irrigated ponds and is a regular wintering area for many waterfowl but best known for its hugh flocks of Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese. Here Alison and I over look one of the ponds from an observation deck.
