John C. Volkmer, 78, brick mason and plasterer, at his home at Broken Sword. Survivors: wife Mary Elizabeth; Carl and Clemente of Broken Sword; Russell of Cold Water, Mich., and Ray of Bucyrus; daughter, Mrs. Donald Wingart of Broken Sword; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers H.C. Volkmer of Fostoria and Roy Volkmer of Sycamore. Services: 2 pm Friday, Broken Sword EUB Church, Rev. A.B. Johnson and Rev. C. Carnahan. Burial in Broken Sword Cemetery. John C. Volkmer, 77 of Rt 1 Bucyrus, died at 8:10 last evening in his home. He had been bedfast for the past three days. Born Nov 25 1878 in Lykens township Crawford County, he was the son of Lewis and Cahterine Seiber Volkmer. He was merried Nov 3 1898 to Mary Elizabeth Laipply who survives with five children, Clemence Volkmer, Carl Volkmer and Mrs Donald (Velma) Wingart all of Brokensword. Russell Volkmer of Coldwater, Mich. and Ray Volkmer of Burcyrus, Eleven grandchildren and seven great grand children also survive with two brothers H.C. Volkmer of Fostoria and Roy Volkmer of Sycamore. Two daughters, a sister and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Volmer resided in and around Brokensword his entire life and was a member of the Concord Methodist church in the community. He worked as a brick mason and plasterer. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the Brokensword EUB chruch with Rev. C.L. Carnahan and Rev. A. B. Johnson officiating. Burial will be int the Brokensword Cemetery. Calling hours will be observed Thrusday evening from 7 to 9 oclock in the Lutz Funeral Home.
