Shared note

Most of what we know of Fridrich Andreas Bogen comes from

"History of Western Maryland" (c) 1968 by J. Thomas Scharf

p 487 " On the 1st of August 1769, Dr. Philip Thomas located at Frederick and was followed by Dr. John Fischer and Dr. John N.A. Bogen. The latter was a Hessian and for some time was confined of the "Barracks" as a prisoner of war. After the war he married a daughter of Henry Koontz and occupied the house on W. Patrick St where the office of B. F. Brown is now located."

This was written in the late 19th century. The Frederick City Directory of 1886 lists a Benjamin F. Brown, commercial merchant with office at 22 E Patrick St. and resident at 105 E. Patrick St. - Market St was the division between East and West numbers. in 1886
