Township Farmer Died Monday Night After Brief Illness

Henry H. Bogan passed away at his home one mile east of North Roinson, Monday night, at 11 o'clock says the Galion Inquiere. In failing health for several years, death was hastened through an accident which occured recently. While engaged in trimming a bunion Mr. Bogan cut too deep into the flesh with the result that blood poisoning set in and he sank rapidly until the final summons case.

The funeral was conducted from the home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning after which the remains were brought to Fairview cemetery in this city for interment. Rev. Lilly, pastor of the U.B. church of north robinson conducted the services.

The deceased was the son of Josefph and Mary (Kern) Bogan and was born in Marion county, Jan 1, 1846 and thus reached the age of 67 years 2 months and 10 days. He attended the public schools until 18 years old, then began farming, in which vocation he continued through life. For many years he has lived on the farm near North Robinson where he died.

In 1876 the deceased was married to Miss Leah Kunkel, of north of this city (Galion), the union being blessed by nine children. Three children, Maud, wife of Roy Smith, Bessie who died at the age of nine, and one daughter who died in infancy preceded him to eternity. He is survived by his widow, four sons, Joseph A. of Mansfield, Edward of North Robinson, Robert L. of this city, Frank, who resides at home and two daughters, Della A, wife of J. Hill, Esther, wife of Ollie Dewalt, both of Shelby.

Mr. Bogan was a life-long member of the U.B. church of North Robinson and a true and exemplary christian. He was a devoted and affectionate husband and father and a good citizen, who enjoyed the high esteem of all who knew him.
