Evelyn May Pfahler, 91, of Bucyrus, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Carlisle House, Bucyrus, after an extended illness.
Evelyn was born in rural Crawford County on September 19, 1916 to the late Ray and the late Edna (Bogan) Bair. She married George Loren Pfahler on April, 08, 1936 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1989.
She was a member of the North Robinson United Methodist Church, United Methodist Church Women, where she held district office for nine years and was the President of the local chapter for many years. She was a graduate of North Robinson High School Class of 1934, a 40 year member of the North Robinson Homemakers Club. She retired from Colonel Crawford School District on October 1, 1982. She followed the Gifts of the Spirit. Entertaining at her home or organizing meals at church or school she enjoyed the Gift of Hospitality. Evelyn ran the Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed canning, baking and gardening.
She is survived by daughter and son-in law; Marlene and Ronald Patterson of Nashville, TN, two sons and daughters-in-law; Charles and Barbara Pfahler of Bucyrus and Alan and Judy Ann Pfahler of North Robinson, nine grandchildren; Paul ( Hannah) Patterson, Mark (Karen) Patterson, Ruth(C.J.) Lee, Valerie(Paul) Lofton, David (Alicia)Pfahler, Raina Pfahler, Timothy (Britney)Pfahler, Lynn Pfahler and Denise Pfahler, twelve great-grandchildren; Paul, Jr., Preston, Harley, Moritz, Riccarda, Casper, Annalese, Ellie, Tyler, Camden, Mark and Patton..
Friends may call Sunday September 14, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Renae Meggitt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Care Matters Hospice or the North Robinson United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
