Mr. Correll had been residing with his daughter Mrs. C. F. Odaffer at Van Wert, O., and seven weeks ago came to Bucyrus to visit his daughter Mrs. Baker. A week after his arrival here he was taken ill and from the very beginning his condition was such that death was expected at any moment. Dornblaser pastor of St Paul's Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment in Oakwood cemetery. The deceased was a son of John and Elizabeth Lind Correll and was born at Gettysburg, PA May 17, 1832 and had attained the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 13 days at the time of his death. At the age of two years his parents moved to Stark County, O., where he remained until 1859 when he came to Crawford County and commenced farming in Liberty township. He continued on the farm for several years and then returned to Stark County where he remained until 1869 when he came to Bucyrus and started a boot and shoe store which business he conducted in three different rooms between the Deal House corner and Rowe's store for thirty years. He occupied each of the the three different locations for a period of ten years and was a successful merchant. By his fair dealings with his customers he won for himself an enviable reputation as a merchant and was highly respected by all who knew him. Mr. Correll was married on January 10, 1856 to Miss Susan E. Bogan of Whetstone township, who was a native of Virginia and who was born Nov 10, 1832. She came with her parents to Crawford county in 1848. Mrs. Correll passed away several years ago. To the union six children were born, and of these but two are living, Mrs Odaffer of Van Wert and Mrs Baker of Bucyrus. There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. To these sincere sympathy of all is extended in this hour of their sorrow. Mr. Correllw was a man who believed in God and who led a sincere Christian life. He was a close follower of the Golden Rule and his many acts of charity and kindness won for him scores of friends which he retained to the last. Perhaps no man was better known by the people of Crawford County than was Jeremiah Correll. His character was stainless and he lived a life of usefulness, a fitting example to those of the present generation. Mr Correll has passed from earthly scenes to the realms above. He has crossed the Dark Valley of the Shadow of Death. Wordly scenes have been laid aside and his is now at rest of that farther shore, to join with those who have gone before. He was a good man and his works do follow him."
